In May 2008 Arnon Grunberg, translator Franco Paris, and retired professor of modern Dutch literature Ton Anbeek visited the universities of Naples, Rome, Padua and Trieste for workshops about the translation of Grunberg's books.
Grunberg also gave readings in bookshops in Naples, Padua and Trieste and on the 7th of May 2008 the Royal Dutch Institute in Rome organised a conference about Grunberg's work.
