Beer

One of the students suggested to have drinks after today’s class, so we went to a café, we ordered a few bottles of red wine and some snacks. One of the students didn’t come to class, but she showed up for drinks in the café afterwards. For one second I was tempted to say something about it, but then I realized: I’m not a teacher, I’m not a professor – I’m a facilitator at best.
After two hours I paid and left. I remembered that Eric Jarosinski (Nein) had told me: “I had the best talks with my students over beer in a café. Then I could shout at them: ‘Please, don’t write a paper like this.’”
But it was too early to get drunk with students. There is still some work that needs to be done and besides that I have to catch a plane to Munich early tomorrow morning.
