Tonight was the premiere of the documentary that Pascalle Bonnier made about my mother (and me).
As an object in the documentary it is hard, perhaps even impossible to judge the movie. Sometimes I felt ashamed, to listen to conversations I had with my mother over the phone for example, to listen to the pet names I gave my mother and all the times she called me by several different pet names. Little Donkey, was one of them.

Bu showing intimacy is probably always uncomfortable, and if you allow somebody to shoot a documentary about mother and son how can it not be intimate?
Perhaps the question is, how far can you go in showing intimacy? Or even: what is intimacy?
