Tonight, my friend Karol invited me to listen Ariodante by Händel. We went to “Polskie Radio”—the countertenor (Kacper Szelążek) who sang the part of Ariodante was impressive. But Mr. Szelążek himself appeared to be slightly uncomfortable with the cheering audience.
“Ariodante” celebrates the triumph of love, but we witness quite a lot of suffering before this triumph.
