After my talk dinner in The Pig. The name of the restaurant happened to be obvious, pork, pork and more pork on the menu. A charming young man at the other side of the table told me about a paper he has written on the question whether political protests matter and the influence of the weather on political protests. Rain, sunshine, snow et cetera. (Demonstrations mostly happen outside after all.)
He sent me the paper, but he gave me already two important answers. Yes, political protests matter, and weather has an important influence on the size and therefore the efficiency of the protests.
In short: it's the weather, stupid.
