My French teacher pointed at a huge rat in Central Park, almost as big as a cat.
“A monster,” I said.
“He is gorgeous,” he insisted.
It’s a word that is seldom used in connection with rats, as far as I know, but fair enough, the huge rat appeared to be gorgeous and healthy.
“He is not shy,” I said.
“Not at all.”
“He is used to people.”
Then we started talking about other animals.
