Antarctica

Fur

Dinner in Sistina on 81st Street, in the tent obviously, indoor dining is the past.
I was seated next to a couple, they spoke alternately German and English, she was wearing a fur coat and her face looked like a beautiful church that was rebuilt after a bombing.
But the renovation was well done.
The man was obviously not her husband, and the lady was giggling a lot. She took a picture of the man and she said, “we’ll send the picture to our friend with a note: Greetings from Antarctica.” More giggling.
Before they left she whispered: “Give the maître d’ some extra money, he took care well of us.”
I’m not sure if this was a business relationship, friendship, an affair, or all at the same time.
