A lady on the first row wasn’t impressed with our presentation of Schnitzler’s novel ‘The Road into the Open’ – what kind of sales technique is this, she wanted to know.
I was a bit offended by the words ‘sales technique’ but perhaps she was right, selling is everything. Talking for an audience about a novel, even if the author is dead, is selling the novel.
Basically, this person was saying: ‘Seduce me again, seduce me better.’
